Insecure Writers Support Group |
Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time.
Let’s rock the neurotic writing world!
Our Twitter hashtag is #IWSG
The awesome co-hosts for the January 6 posting of the IWSG will be L.G. Keltner, Denise Covey, Sheri Larsen, J.Q. Rose, Chemist Ken, and Michelle Wallace!
You might be a Book Nerd...
Yes, that's part of my study... |
Oh, you know you are, so take the quiz already for confirmation.
I don't think I've met a writer who isn't a book nerd. I'll confess to scoring 44 on the quiz. And I'm proud to proclaim my status. Most writing craft books and teachers tell fledgling writers to read--everything. To read in their genre, out of their genre, craft books, blogs. You name it, we need to read it.
So, what are you reading at the moment?
Come on. Share! We won't laugh. You're among friends. ;-)
Surely, you're not surprised, are you? |
And if you've never been exposed to Ira Glass's beautiful truth about creativity, you owe it to yourself to click on THIS.
Next Week: The first of January's multiple Mini Book Reviews. What? Of course, I read while my hand recuperated. What did you expect?
I think it's part of the gig to be a book nerd if you're a writer :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm reading "Furiously Happy" by Jenny Lawson who is simply *amazing*. If you enjoy humor and great writing, I'd suggest picking it up or checking out her blog, thebloggess.com
Happy New Year!
C.G.
Oooh! Another book to check out! Thanks, C.G.
DeleteWe used to have eight of those shelves in our house, plus boxes in the closet. We're down to five shelves and only one box in the closet now thanks to eBooks.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine how much all of those boxes would've weighed had we moved?
I'm trying not to think about hauling all those books again, myself.
DeleteI just downloaded some books with the gift card I got for Christmas. Can't wait to sink my eyes into them.
ReplyDeleteMost of my physical books are in storage. I'm REALLY hoping the mice aren't getting to them. I got rid of a few before we moved. It would have been more but DH's work paid for movers so I didn't worry to much.
Oooh! A gift card for books! Be still my beating heart. ;-)
DeleteI'm a book nerd, but now all my books are on my Kindle instead of on a bookshelf. I do miss regular books, though, but life is much cleaner without all of that around. Plus, I can take all of my books with me wherever I go on just one device.
ReplyDeleteI love my Kindle now that I can't hold books open any longer. It *is* easier to clean. ;-)
DeleteI'm such a book nerd :-) I miss my books in storage!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean!
