{Note to followers: if you want an email when a new post goes up, go the the left column and subscribe for emails. Thanks.}

Insecure Writers Support Group

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time. Be sure to link to this page and display the badge in your post.

Let’s rock the neurotic writing world!

Our Twitter hashtag is #IWSG

The awesome co-hosts for the the July 1 posting of the IWSG will be Charity Bradford, S.A. Larsen, AJ, Tamara Narayan, Allison Gammons, and Tanya Miranda!

Writers do a lot of waiting--waiting for contest results, query responses, submission results, publication dates, etc. We all need a healthy dose of patience. Some days we run out of that very trait. I know I'm waiting on a contest right now. Soon, she says hopefully, I'll be in the query results segment of this writing game.  One helpful hint is to start working on your next book, story, poem, or play. I'm about to do just that after my latest polishing run on Mother's Day.

What about you? What are you waiting for on your writing journey? How do you find the patience to wait?

Next Week: The latest Author Interview: Kindle bestseller Barbara Claypole White. Pssst! There's a book giveaway, too. ;-)

  1. Patience is absolutely my worst quality ever! I hate waiting for anything!! To the point where I get anxiety if I don't get an instant response to an email. Which is silly because I live in Australia and am on a different time zone to most of the friends I email in the US. I'm currently waiting on the first concept for my cover so that's exciting and I'm coping with it by participating in Camp NaNoWriMo which is just as well because I would be a wreck otherwise!

    1. Good luck, Lan! I'm the world's worst at checking email incessantly!

  2. I'm not the most patient person either, with myself anyway. I find things to keep me occupied until I find out about contest submissions and such. Most of the time I'll read and review a book, or work on my unfinished novel. I'm getting there slowly. :) Have a great day. Eva

  3. What I need to do is stop waiting and get my butt in gear. And not just for writing.

  4. I'm in a more active spot right now, than a waiting one. Gotta get some stuff done before I can wait for anyone else to care about it :P But ya know.. Waiting is..
    Happy IWSG Day!

  5. I don't know if I find the patience. Sometimes I just go a little crazy. But, when all is said and done, you're going to have to wait, regardless of how you handle it.

  6. I work on something else as well. Distraction is the only way to go!

  8. I'm really not a patient person - whether it's writing or IRL, I can be really impatient! I tend to read a book (or three) to distract myself :)

  9. I'm waiting to hear back on some queries and submissions. I keep writing to take my mind off the waiting.

  10. I keep waiting for motivation to edit. I know, it doesn't work like that. Someday soon I'm going to have to ditch other hobbies and focus solely on editing. I'm looking at you, Twitter time-suck...
